How it works
Step 1
Design your piece
Visit the Fourways showroom or start with Design Your Own. Choose the table, timber, size and finish, and receive a written quote.
Step 2
Receive your registry
We prepare a private registry page in your names, with a QR code ready to print on your invitations.
Step 3
Guests contribute
Guests give any amount they choose and leave a personal wish. Amounts stay private between each guest and you.
Step 4
We build and deliver
Your table is made in our workshop and delivered with a keepsake book holding every guest's name and message.
Discreet by design
Your registry page shows your chosen piece and a note from you, never a price, target or running total. Guests give freely, and nobody compares gifts.
A keepsake with the table
When your table is delivered, it arrives with a bound book of every guest who contributed and the wishes they left you. The table holds the meals, the book holds the people.
Questions couples ask
- Will guests see how much has been given?
- No. Your registry page never shows a target or a total. Guests simply see your piece and a warm note from you. Only you and DesignByU see the contributions.
- What if contributions fall short of the quote?
- You settle the balance before we begin. The usual deposit applies before the timber is cut, so your build starts on time.
- What if guests give more than the table costs?
- The extra becomes DesignByU store credit, perfect for matching chairs, a bench or finishing pieces for your home.
- How long does a table take?
- Solid timber pieces are made to order. Resin river tables take 8 to 12 weeks. We plan the timing around your wedding date.
- Is there a minimum contribution?
- No. Every guest gives what feels right, from a small gift to a generous one.
- Can we start before we have chosen the table?
- Yes. Book a registry consultation and we will help you choose, then open your page once the quote is agreed.
